Shepway Green Party and Folkestone and Hythe Liberal Democrat Party have worked together in Folkestone & Hythe since the 2019 elections.
This form of progressive alliance improves the chances of challenging the long-standing Conservative hold on the district council as well as providing a united stand against candidates that seek to spread hate and divide our communities.
For Hythe Town Council, the progressive residents’ alliance of Greens and LibDems includes one independent candidate, Angela Dickinson (Hythe South).
This alliance, including Angela, has been the lead group on Hythe Town Council for the last four years and has achieved a great deal, leading the way to save our open spaces, improve facilities for young people across the town, champion road safety, and holding many community events.

“This alliance for these elections makes a lot of sense. We are saying to the electorate, there is a more grown-up, sensible way to do politics that provides the best chance to gain a council that has a vision for the area, will protect the open spaces within and between our communities, will be transparent and will put local residents first. This sort of culture change is long-overdue.”
