Folkestone & Hythe District Council, North Downs East

Cabinet Member for Place Plan, Heritage, Tourism and District Economy

I started working in Kent in the late 1980s and lived for many years in Lyminge with my wife and two daughters. A few years ago we downsized to a flat in Folkestone.

I began my career in local government, have served as a parish councillor, and in my professional life have worked with staff and councillors in local authorities around the UK. So I have a good understanding of how local government works, and know how important it is to find better ways for communities to participate in the way their councils are run.

Councils like ours often end up overly focused on their urban centres, and I want to make sure that the council works for people all across our district. I look forward to working with fellow residents and community groups to make the place we call home more liveable and sustainable.
