Without your support, our success in winning 6 district council seats, 7 town council seats, and a county council seat would not have been possible. Your contribution played a crucial role in helping us achieve these significant victories, and we are grateful for your commitment to our cause.
We’ve made huge strides in the last few years at all levels of local government here in Shepway but we can’t continue bringing progressive, hopeful politics to our area without more support. We are a small party without the big donors of the mainstream parties; we rely a lot on volunteers and goodwill.
First, join the Green Party. In the weekend after the election, 500+ new members signed up. Click on any link on this website to join us.
Second, demand better democracy in the UK by signing the petition for proportional representation:
Under a fair electoral system, the Green Party would have 18 MPs from the votes at this latest election (although no doubt many more than this, as people could have voted with their hearts, rather than doing so tactically).
Third, no matter what skills and how much or how little time you have to spare, consider becoming more involved. Whether this is helping with leaflets, displaying posters and boards at election times, joining the committee, coming along to meetings or standing as a candidate, we’d love to hear from you.
Here in Shepway, our terrific councillors on all levels of local government are working tirelessly for residents, pushing bold policies to tackle the climate and biodiversity emergencies, and fighting for a fairer, more equal society.
We rely so much on our members and supporters – so please do join us!
